Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect at my dog’s photoshoot?

As a fur-mama and dog lover, my number one priority is your dog’s comfort. They will have time to roam around and explore the space before we start shooting. Once they are at ease, let the posing begin! If your dog isn’t in the mood to model, I will sometimes ask you to help position your dog on the backdrop, or stand behind me holding treats to entice them to look at the camera.

When will I get my photos?

I will send you a gallery of unedited photo proofs within 2 weeks after the session for you to choose from. Once you’ve made your selections, I will send you your edited photos within 4 weeks. If you are hoping to have your photos back in time for a special occasion or event, let me know, and I’ll do my best to expedite the process :)

Do you have gift certificates?

We sure do! A dog photoshoot is the perfect gift for any dog parent in your life. A great birthday, rescue-versary, anniversary, or wedding gift!  Click HERE to purchase an eGift Card.

What if I have a reactive dog?

I want this to be a positive experience for your pooch, so there will be no other dogs at the session. Your pooch will be free to explore the space and get comfortable with both me, and their surroundings. However, if your dog has ever exhibited aggressive behaviours (lunging, biting, etc) towards unfamiliar people,  a Cold Nose photoshoot may not be a good fit for them. I will be on the floor with your dog, in close proximity, so please keep that in mind when booking your shoot.

Can I pose with my dog?

Of course! Both the 'You and Your Dog' session and 'The Whole Pack' are designed with family photos in mind. Click HERE to explore packages and decide which one is the best fit for you and your furry friend.

Where are you located?

My studio is located at 237 E 4th Avenue, in Vancouver, BC. I also do pop-up shoots at some favourite groomers, doggie daycares, and dog supply stores in Vancouver, as well as at corporate events. If you'd like to do a shoot in a Canadian city other then Vancouver, drop me a line! I might be heading to your area soon :)

Do you provide prints of the photos?

Absolutely! Upon request, I can provide prints in a variety of sizes. My prints all come on high-quality photo paper that will retain the colour integrity of each photo. Two 8 x 10 prints are included in "The Whole Pack" session, but prints can be added to any package. I will send you pricing options for prints when you've selected the photos you'd like to have edited.

Do I get to keep the unedited photos?

No, your unedited proofs will not be available for download because I don't consider my photos 'finished' until they have been edited. The editing process includes cleaning up paw prints and fur on the backdrop, removing blemishes,  colour balancing, cropping, and making your pup (and you!) pop. Once you've selected the photos you'd like me to edit, I'll retouch them, remove the watermark, and send you downloadable versions of each image in both high-resolution and web resolution.

How can I prepare my dog for their photoshoot?

If you have an energetic dog, I recommend taking them for a walk or to the park  to expend some of that energy before the shoot.

Because I will use treats to encourage your dog to look at the camera, please  don’t feed your dog a huge meal or lots of treats right before the session. I want  them to stay motivated to pose for those yummy rewards!

What should I bring to the photoshoot?

I will have lots of treats and squeaky toys on hand, but if there is a particular  treat or toy that your dog absolutely loves, bring it along. I also ask that you  bring a collar and leash, which can be helpful in positioning your pooch on the  backdrop, if need be. If you have a favourite item of clothing or accessory for  your dog, bring that along as well.

What should I wear if I'll be posing with my dog?

Feel free to bring a few wardrobe options so we can try out different looks. Everything from casual to upscale if you're feeling fancy. I find that neutral colours (black, white, and grey) look great on camera and allow your face(s) to be the focus.  What's most important is that you bring clothes that make you feel great! Your fave jeans and t-shirt and a great dress or suit are always fabulous options. And don't forget shoes!  If you'd like a make-up artist at the shoot, I'm happy to provide one for an additional charge.

What if I need to reschedule?

I will ask for a $100 deposit at the time of booking. If you need to reschedule up  to 3 days before the session, the deposit is transferable. If you cancel or  reschedule within three days before your session time, the deposit is forfeited.

How do I book a session?

Reach out on our contact page and I will email you back with possible times and some questions about your pup's personality and preferences to ensure they have the best experience!
